STEPPING UP

Mature and motivated learners in year 11 will follow a programme individually tailored to them. This is done through their vocational choices to ensure they get the most from their studies.

In addition to the chosen course of study students will:

• Work towards functional skills or GCSE qualifications in English and Maths

• Attend weekly tutorial sessions

• Personal Social Health and Economic (PSHE) topics that will lead to a Level 1 qualification

As these students ‘Step-up’ onto mainstream courses, it is essential that they maintain a high level of attendance, always be punctual and work in a variety of environments with a range of staff members.

Enrichment activities such as theatre visits, cultural trips, sports days and Dragon Den style activities provide lots of fun whilst learning.
