Unlike its Committees, the Corporation does not determine all of its own “Terms of Reference”. Click the links in the next paragraph to see the equivalent documents.

The Corporation operates under a Statutory Instrument (UK Government secondary legislation) known as the Instrument and Articles of Government.    -- I&A Modification Order 2012--
These are supplemented by a further three key documents which have been locally devised and adopted: The Standing Orders set out the framework of how the Corporation carries out its business, each member of the Corporation (College Governor) agrees to follow a Code of Conduct for the duration of their period in office, the Scheme of Delegation outlines the distribution of some of the powers of the Corporation and the Principal & Chief Executive.
I&A - Modification Order

The Corporation (Governing Body) has 13 members (Governors)

Here is some outline information about the Corporation:

• there are 9 meetings of the full Corporation each year
• plus one annual Corporation Planning Conference
• meetings have ‘Structured agendas’ based on a business cycle
• each of the three termly meetings follow a set theme:
  
  • the Learner Experience (LE) including curriculum development and quality assurance on the first meeting each Term
  • People and the Environment (PE) – personnel, property, etc on the second meeting each Term
  • Financial Health (FH) on the third meeting each Term.

The Corporation has three Committees:

• Audit Committee
• Search Committee
• Remuneration Committee

The Audit Committee meets approximately five times each year. The Search and Remuneration Committees meet when required but at least once each in any year. Click the committee links above to view:
