Hairdressing NVQ Full-time Level 2

Who Is The Course For

For those wishing to study key skills and gain experience required for becoming a Hairdresser. This course can lead to NVQ Level 3. 

Entry Requirements

  • Any one of the following:
    - Level 1 hairdressing or beauty qualification
    - 3 GCSEs at Grade D or above, preferably including English and science
  • Interview and assessment

What You Will Study

  • Cutting and blow drying
  • Colouring
  • Shampooing and setting
  • Plaiting and twisting

Units You Will Study

  • Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health & safety
  • Give clients a positive impression of yourself and your organisation
  • Advise and consult with clients
  • Shampoo and condition hair and scalp
  • Change hair color using basic techniques
  • Style and finish hair
  • Set and dress hair
  • Cut hair using basic techniques
  • Fulfill salon reception skills
  • Plait and twist hair

 How You Will Be Assessed

  • Assignments
  • Presentations
  • Group and individual work
  • Examinations

Where It Can Take You

Hairdressing VRQ Level 3 or employment within a hairdressing salon or similar establishment
