In line with many colleges across London and the rest of England, Barnet and Southgate College and Waltham Forest College have been discussing the possibility of a more collaborative approach to education across our areas of work. This is aligned with Government’s strategic direction and the national Area Review process for further education colleges which is currently underway.
The Governing Bodies of both Colleges have detailed the proposal for a merger to take place on 1 August 2017. Our public consultation document can be viewed here.
It describes the reasons for our proposed merger and the benefits it will bring for learners, employers and the wider communities we serve. It is a positive step towards delivering better local, regional and national skills offers through a larger, more stable and financially resilient College.
We will continue to listen and refine our plans as views are given by the public and other stakeholders. Please let us have your comments by clicking this link.
