People with Cisco qualifications and other IT courses could find their skills are increasingly in demand, if a new study is anything to go by.
Research carried out by UPMentors reveals shortages in finding talented IT workers have meant 61 per cent of businesses are currently struggling to meet new business demands.
The study also shows 15 per cent of firms are aware that they need to address skills shortages to ensure existing staff are educated on new IT developments.
"Maintaining a high skills level, particularly with competition for new business at its highest since the recession, is clearly a priority this year, but organisations need to make sure they end up investing in the right person for the job," UPMentors co-founder Julian Holmes claims.
He goes on to state that those companies which spend time and money improving their employees' skills will not only find that their staff are more capable but they are also loyal and more motivated.
Earlier this month, ITContractor.com's Gerry McLaughlin claimed that firms are increasingly looking to employ contractors - which could include people who have studied Cisco courses - who are being viewed as playing an "integral" role in companies.
