An Apprenticeship programme is a work-based learning programme that is delivered via a blend of on and off-the-job training, whereby people can apply their skills in real work contexts. There are several elements that make up an Apprenticeship: competency elements are assessed on-the-job in the work place, and theory elements units are generally taught in an off-the-job setting on a day-release or block-release model.
Our Apprenticeship Insight Sessions are open to members of the public every Wednesdays from 10am – 12pm, in room 121. Our Apprenticeship Team will be delivering a presentation, offering support with finding an employer and conduction assessments. No need to book, just turn up on the day and report to the College Reception.

Apprenticeships are available for those aged 16 and over at intermediate, advanced, higher and degree levels. The levels of apprenticeships offered at Waltham Forest College are:
Intermediate Apprenticeships (equivalent to five good GCSE passes). Intermediate apprentices work towards a Level 2 qualification and normally runs for 12 months. Achievement of this may allow entry to an Advanced Apprenticeship.
Advanced Apprenticeships (equivalent to two A Level passes). Advanced apprentices work towards a Level 3 qualification, and the duration can from 18 to 24 months. To start this programme you should have five GCSEs at Grades C or above or have completed an Intermediate Apprenticeship
