This course is designed for 16-19 and 19+ adults.

Our Certificate in Construction Skills Entry Level 3 course is designed to give you all the necessary skills to be a multiskilled operative within the Construction Industry.

Having a Construction Skills qualification is key for anyone wishing to take employment as a handyman, or to work in a setting that requires a range of trades rather than a specific path.

This is a 2 year course in which you will begin studying at Entry Level 3 after which you have the option to progress to a construction course at Waltham Forest College, including:

  • Bricklaying
  • Carpentry
  • Electrical Installation
  • Plumbing

The course will be scheduled over 3 days per week and will be a mixture of theory and practical across the two years.

This course will lead to:

  • Bricklaying at Waltham Forest College
  • Carpentry at Waltham Forest College
  • Plumbing at Waltham Forest College
  • Electrical Installation at Waltham Forest College

The entry requirements for this course are:

  • Must hold 1 GCSE in either maths or English

If required, you will have the opportunity to study GCSE maths and/or English alongside your course so you can progress onto the next level.

This course consists of the following modules:

  • Carpentry
  • Painting and decorating
  • Bricklaying
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing

You will be assessed across a mixture of theory and practical assignments which will be carried out to industry standards.

The assessment methods will be a mix of the below:

  • Practical assessments
  • Theory based assessments
  • Online exams

All assessments will give you an opportunity to pass at one of the following three standards:

  • Pass
  • Merit
  • Distinction
