In the first semester you will focus on speaking and listening. You will learn to communicate with other students, find out about life in the UK and develop the skills you need to live here.

  • Sector Overview

    English is spoken as a second language by 26% of the borough of Waltham Forest.  Our ESOL courses will teach you to communicate better, help you prepare for work and give you confidence living in the UK whatever your level.

  • Entry Requirements

    You will be assessed via:

    • Interview and assessment
  • What will I study?

    This course consists of the following modules:

    • Speaking and listening assessments
  • How will I be assessed?

    You will be assessed via a speaking and listening assessment with your
    teacher and with other students.

  • Enrichment

    At the College you will have the chance to join different clubs.

    You can also become a student representative or join the Students' Union.

    You will also go out on trips with your classmates.

  • Work Experience

    You will be offered opportunities to actively engage and take part in experiential events to improve your personal development.

  • Progression opportunities

    The completion of this course will allow you to progress onto a higher level ESOL course.

    Some vocational courses will accept students with Entry Level 3 and above in ESOL.
