Do you love fashion and want to turn your passion into a career? This exciting Level 3 course in Fashion Business and Retail is your first step into the industry. You will explore everything from fashion design and styling to marketing, buying and visual merchandising.

Work on real-world projects, visit galleries and fashion locations and take part in our end-of-year fashion show. You will also build key skills like teamwork, communication and project management.

Whether you dream of becoming a fashion buyer, stylist or running your own brand, this course will help you get there.

Through tutorial sessions, you will be supported to enhance wider employability skills including project management, teamwork, research, communication and presentation skills alongside your time management.

This is a 2 year study programme scheduled over 3 days per week and will be a mixture of theory, practical and online lessons.

  • Entry Requirements

    The entry requirements for this course are: 

    • 4 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including maths and English, or Merit in a relevant Level 2 qualification
    • Portfolio of work
    • Evidence of minimum 75%+ attendance at previous place of study
    • Interview and assessment

    If required, you will study GCSE English and/or maths qualifications alongside your course so you can progress to the next level.

    • Communication for Fashion Business and Retail
    • Critical and Contextual Awareness
    • Fashion Production and Supply Chain
    • Fashion Buying and Merchandising
    • Fashion Management and Marketing
    • Visual Merchandising for Fashion Retail
    • Collaborative Fashion Retail Project
  • How will I be assessed?

    You will be assessed via:

    • Project based assignment briefs
    • Final Major Project (FMP)
  • Enrichment

    To further enhance your progression, you will actively participate in community projects, such as the Griffin Flag Project or take part in the BFI Film Academy workshops.

    You will be involved in taking part in trips and visits to relevant museum exhibitions such as The Tate Britain and William Morris Gallery.

    You will also have access to key employers that will deliver guest lectures to build your industry knowledge and contacts.

  • Work Experience

    You must complete 36 hours (1 week) of external work placement which is an essential part of the programme. Some of the opportunities will include placements with employers such as Enfield Museum and X7 Productions.

  • Progression opportunities

    The completion of this course will allow you to progress onto:

    • Apprenticeship in the fashion industry
    • Employment in the fashion industry

    • Level 6 university degree
