This course is designed for ages 16-19. This course is ideal for those who want to pursue the academic study of sport, as well as take part in an enrichment programme.
Football students will receive 6 hours of coaching from our academy coaches as part of their enrichment programme. There will also be an opportunity to gain an FA Level 1 Coaching Qualification.
Selected students will have the opportunity to represent Waltham Forest College at intercollege football competitions.
We have high success rates, in line with national averages and access to excellent sports facilities.
The entry requirements for this course are:
- An overall merit grade from the Subsidiary Diploma in Sport
- 4 GCSEs at Grade 4 (C) or above including English or Maths
- Interview and assessment

- Sports Injuries
- Leadership in Sport
- Exercise for Specific Groups
- Sport Psychology
- Sport Development
- English and/or Maths
- Work Experience & Outdoor and Adventurous Activities
You will be assessed via:
- Practical assessment
This course will lead to employment or entry to a foundation degree at university or direct employment in the health and leisure industry.
