This course is designed for young people aged 16-18, or up to 24 with an EHCP who have Special Education Needs and/or a Learning Difficulty.
Learners may have special educational needs and disabilities such as behaviour, emotional and social difficulties (BESD), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), mild learning difficulties (MLD), moderate learning difficulties (MLD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and opposition defiant disorder (ODD).
Learners will be working at Entry Level 2 to Level 1 and want to improve their study/employability skills and personal social skills.
This course will lead to:
- Bridging the Gap to Mainstream
- Supported Internship
- Pre-Supported Internship
- Further studies within mainstream college setting
The entry requirements for this course are:
- Working towards Entry 3 or Level 1
This is BTEC entry to vocational studies. Learners will be able to explore different vocational sessions to help them choose what they want to progress onto.
The core modules include:
- Maths and English
- Personal, social and health education (PSHE)
- Employability
- Enrichment
You will be assessed via:
- Interview
- A written task
- Assessment of maths and English
These are completed in a supportive and informal manner.
