The Building Services Engineering: Electrical Installation T-Level is a Level 3 course designed for students aged 16-18 who are looking towards a career in a range of construction occupations.

This T-Level is the Electrotechnical Engineer route.

Career options might include:

  • Engineering maintenance

  • Building and services engineer
  • Smart meter installer
  • Plumber
  • Electrician
  • And many more

You will study this course for 2 years.

This course will lead to progression to higher level courses such as an HND, higher-level apprenticeship, university degree or employment.

The entry requirements for this course are:

  • 4 GCSEs at Grade 9 to 4 (A*-C) or equivalent including Grade 4 in English and Grade 5 in maths. Ideally you will have achieved a Grade 4 in science.
  • Or successful completion of the Construction T-Level Transition Programme.

You will be required to attend an informal interview which may include completing an assessment based on your prior qualifications.

Where entry requirements have not been achieved, students may be referred to the relevant T-Level Transition Programme.

Industry placement:

All students must complete a minimum of 9 weeks working with an employer(s) on an industry placement.

As part of your programme you will learn and complete the Health & Safety requirements to be able to obtain a CSCS/ESC card that is an industry requirement to enter sites (provided by the College).

You will be assessed using a range of methods including:
