As an apprentice, you’ll spend most of your time in the workplace, developing practical skills, while also attending college on a day-release or block-release basis to build your knowledge. This mix of on-the-job and off-the-job training means you can put into practice what you learn in the classroom.

The College’s Apprenticeship Team may be able to help you in sourcing an employer to undertake your Apprenticeship. Please note this will depend on the current offer by the College. If you are already in employment and wish to undertake an Apprenticeship, an advisor from the Apprenticeship Team will be able to assist your query.

Types of Apprenticeship
The levels of apprenticeships offered at Waltham Forest College are:
Intermediate Apprenticeships
Intermediate Apprenticeships (equivalent to five good GCSE passes). Intermediate apprentices work towards a Level 2 qualification and normally runs for 12 months. Achievement of this may allow entry to an Advanced Apprenticeship.
Advanced Apprenticeships
Advanced Apprenticeships (equivalent to two A Level passes). Advanced apprentices work towards a Level 3 qualification, and the duration can from 18 to 24 months. To start this programme you should have five GCSEs at Grades C or above or have completed an Intermediate Apprenticeship
