Food Safety in Catering Level 2 (September start)
The Food Safety in Catering Level 2 Award is ideal for anyone working or intending to work in a catering environment where food is prepared, cooked, and handled. Delivered over three accessible evening sessions to support working adults, this short course will provide you with the fundamental knowledge required to maintain excellent food hygiene standards and comply with current legislation.
You will learn about the critical importance of food safety, how to identify and control food safety hazards, and the practical steps required to ensure that the food you prepare and serve is safe for consumption.
Duration: This course is scheduled over 3 days a week, 3 hours each evening.

What will I study?
This course consists of one mandatory unit covering the Principles of Food Safety in Catering:
- The importance of food safety procedures and complying with the law
- Microbiological, chemical, physical, and allergenic hazards
- Safe food handling practices and temperature control
- Personal hygiene responsibilities for food handlers
- Keeping work areas clean and hygienic

You will be assessed via:
- A multiple-choice examination set by City & Guilds at the end of the final session
