GCSE Combined Science, English and Maths Package

GCSE English and Maths are essential qualifications for progression into further education, apprenticeships and employment. They form the foundation for communication, problem-solving and independent learning skills required across all sectors.

In addition, science plays a critical role in developing learners’ understanding of the world around them and is increasingly important for progression into a wide range of careers, including healthcare, engineering, environmental science and technology. The study of Combined Science introduces learners to key concepts in biology, chemistry and physics, helping them to understand how scientific principles apply in real-life contexts such as health, sustainability and industry.

The inclusion of GCSE Statistics further strengthens learners’ ability to interpret data, analyse trends and make informed decisions - skills that are highly valued by employers and essential in modern workplaces.

This programme is therefore designed to provide a broad and balanced academic foundation, enabling learners not only to secure the core qualifications required for progression, but also to develop scientific and analytical skills that support further study and employment in a range of sectors.

The entry requirements for this course are:

• GCSE English and/or Maths below Grade 4
• Initial assessment to determine starting point
• Interview and enrolment guidance
• May need one satisfactory reference

• Grammar, punctuation and spelling
• Spoken language skills

Maths GCSE

• Number and algebra
• Ratio, proportion and rates of change
• Geometry and measures
• Statistics and probability

Combined Science Synergy GCSE

• Biology: cells, organisation, health and environment
• Chemistry: atomic structure, reactions, materials
• Physics: energy, forces, waves and the universe
• Links between science and real-world applications

GCSE Statistics

• Averages and spread
• Probability 
• Interpreting real-life data

You will be assessed via:

• Final GCSE examinations in all subjects
• Regular mock exams and assessments
