The Science Sector plays a vital role in supporting industries such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biomedical science, environmental management, forensic investigation, laboratory research and engineering. There is growing demand for scientifically skilled professionals who can apply theoretical knowledge and practical techniques to solve real-world problems, analyse data and work safely within laboratory and industry settings.

This qualification has been developed in collaboration with employers, higher education providers and industry specialists to ensure learners develop the scientific knowledge, practical laboratory skills, investigative techniques and professional behaviours required for progression to university, apprenticeships and employment within the science sector.

The entry requirements for this course are:

• You should have an interest in the subject area you are applying for.
• There are no formal entry requirements but we will assess your level of English and maths to make sure you are working at Level 2 or above. This is to ensure you are able to meet the course requirements.

This is a 100% coursework-based course, comprising of ten units. Each unit is assessed by an assignment.

To further enhance your progression, you will be involved in taking part in trips and visits, such as The Hunterian Museum, The Royal College of Surgeons and The Museum of Surgery.

You will also have access to key employers that will deliver guest lectures to build your industry knowledge.

You will be offered opportunities to actively engage and take part in experiential events to improve your personal development.
