The Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 course is ideal for individuals who have been nominated to act as an emergency first aider in a low-risk workplace.
Delivered across two accessible evening sessions to support working adults, this course will provide you with the essential knowledge and practical competence to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations safely and effectively.
You will learn lifesaving skills through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical demonstrations, ensuring you are confident in your ability to assess incidents and manage casualties until professional medical help arrives.

Health and safety compliance is a legal requirement for all businesses in the UK. Having qualified first aiders on site is essential for maintaining a safe working environment and protecting employees and customers, meaning these skills are universally in demand across every industry.

Entry Requirements
The entry requirements for this course are:
- No previous first aid experience is required
- Learners must be physically capable of demonstrating practical first aid tasks, such as performing CPR on the floor
- A basic standard of English to understand the course materials and complete the assessment

What will I study?
This course consists of one mandatory unit covering:
- The roles and responsibilities of an emergency first aider
- Assessing an incident
- Managing an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
- Managing an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally (including CPR and safe use of an AED)
- Recognising and assisting a casualty who is choking
- Managing a casualty who is wounded and bleeding
- Managing a casualty who is in shock
- Managing a casualty with a minor injury

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed via:
- Practical observation by the tutor throughout the course
- A multiple-choice theory assessment at the end of the second session
