You will develop your knowledge and awareness of health and care, giving you a solid understanding of these setting. This course is especially suited to those who want to work in care but have not yet decided on which sector.

Sector Overview
The largest employer in the UK Healthcare Sector is the NHS, which employs more than 1.5 million people, placing it in the top five largest workforces in the world. There are more than 350 different roles available within the NHS.
A significant proportion of the sector's workforce is in independent healthcare. In addition to their private sector functions, these providers are increasingly contracted to provide services on behalf of the NHS.

Entry Requirements
The entry requirements for this course are:
• GCSE English grade 2 and above and 3 other GCSE at grade 2 and above

Enrichment
To further enhance your progression, you will actively participate in trips and visits. You will also have access to key employers that will deliver guest lectures to build your industry knowledge and create your future.
Our student common room is a great place to unwind and relax during your breaks. It features pool tables, table tennis, a gaming corner and lots of comfy sofas so you can refresh before your next lesson.
Themed events are held in the common room so you can get the best experience of being a Waltham Forest College student.

You will be offered opportunities to actively engage with industry related employers and take part in experiential events to improve your personal development.

Progression Opportunities
The completion of this course and an attendance of 90% will allow you to progress onto Level 2 Health qualification or employment in the health sector.
