This course is designed for ages 16-19 and 19+ adults.

The NCFE CACHE Certificate in Caring for a Child/Children Entry Level 3 qualification is the first step for people interested in early years or for those who might not be able to enrol on a higher-level qualification due to maths and English grades.

Throughout the course you will be trained and assessed to achieve a CACHE qualification, as well as receive a minimum of 36 hours work experience in a childcare setting (or your choice of vocational field).

This course will provide you with an understanding of the skills and knowledge required to progress your learning onto a relevant Level 1 course.

This course will also support you in achieving your maths and English qualifications at a suitable level.

19+ adults course fee: £532 You may be eligible to study this course for free or access financial support.

This course will lead to:

  • Level 1 qualification in your chosen vocation

The entry requirements for this course are:

  • GCSE Grade 1 or below
  • You will be required to attend an informal interview which may include completing an assessment based on your prior qualifications.

This course consists of the following modules:

  • Health and safety
  • Play work in childcare

You will be assessed via:

  • Written assignments
